Guest registration in Morocco: steps, documents and online check-in

Before each arrival, a host needs to know who they are welcoming. This guide explains how to gather the lead guest’s details and ID cleanly, what an online check-in tool can do for you, and what it does not replace.

Two different things: collecting details and declaring them

Two steps are often confused. The first is collecting the guest’s identity, contact details and an ID document. The second, where it applies to your situation, is declaring the stay to the authorities, for example through the e-Hébergement platform.

CheckinDarna only covers the first step. It is not connected to e-Hébergement, files no declaration and sends nothing to the authorities. The CSV export only makes your own re-entry easier.

Exact obligations depend on your status, your property and current regulations. Check with the authorities or a professional: this guide is not legal advice.

Information gathered in the guest file

For the booking’s lead guest, the CheckinDarna form collects:

  • first name, last name, nationality and date of birth;
  • passport or Moroccan ID (CIN) number;
  • phone number with country code (required) and email (optional);
  • a photo or PDF of the passport or ID card;
  • acceptance of the stay conditions and a finger signature.

Online registration steps with CheckinDarna

  1. 01You create the booking

    Lead guest’s first and last name, arrival and departure dates. A unique link is generated for that booking.

  2. 02You send the link

    A WhatsApp message is prepared, but you send it yourself. You can also copy the link and share it another way.

  3. 03The guest completes the file

    On their phone, without an account, in French, English or Arabic: identity, ID, conditions, signature.

  4. 04You review

    You open the file and the document from your workspace, through short-lived links.

  5. 05You approve

    After your manual approval, the guest can see their arrival instructions. Any change to the instructions removes approval.

Limits to be aware of

  • The file currently covers the lead guest, not every occupant.
  • CheckinDarna does not verify document authenticity: the host reviews the file.
  • No legal compliance is guaranteed: you remain responsible for your procedures and data processing.
