Guest document collection: passport, signature and private storage

A passport photo sent over WhatsApp stays in the chat, the gallery and sometimes backups. Here is how CheckinDarna receives your guests’ documents, who can see them, and what the tool does not guarantee.

Which documents are requested

  • The lead guest’s passport or Moroccan ID card (CIN), as a JPG/PNG photo or PDF, up to 10 MB.
  • A marriage certificate, only if you have indicated it for this stay: it remains optional for the guest.
  • CheckinDarna does not require any other document.

Where files go and who can access them

Files are stored in a private storage space organised by host and by booking. They are not public: the host opens them from the booking page through short-lived links that expire quickly.

Each host can only access their own account’s bookings. The support team has no access to ID documents, signatures or arrival instructions, and email notifications never contain documents, ID numbers or dates of birth.

Accepted conditions and signature

The guest ticks each of your conditions and signs with a finger. The accepted text is stored exactly as displayed, with the signature and date: if you change your conditions later, the earlier file keeps the signed version.

These conditions are rules set by the host. They do not replace legal obligations, and CheckinDarna makes no claim about their legal value.

Host approval

A submitted file is not an approved arrival. You review the ID and details, then approve manually: only then can the guest see their arrival instructions.

Privacy and compliance limits

  • CheckinDarna does not check document authenticity.
  • The privacy policy is still provisional: retention periods and the deletion procedure remain to be specified.
  • No CNDP / Law 09-08 or GDPR compliance is guaranteed; you remain responsible for processing your guests’ data.

Frequently asked questions
